Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Duelr (available at duelrdotfun and related domains), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the platform. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and participants.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use Duelr. By using the platform, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that your use of the platform complies with all laws applicable in your jurisdiction. Duelr does not accept users from jurisdictions where real-money gaming, blockchain-based wagering, or the use of USDC is prohibited or restricted.

3. Platform Description

Duelr is a competitive multiplayer gaming platform built on the Base blockchain. Users may play skill-based games, compete against other players, and optionally participate in peer-to-peer wagers using USDC. All wagers are settled via a non-custodial smart contract deployed on Base mainnet.

4. Wallet and Account

Access to the platform requires connecting a compatible Ethereum-compatible wallet (such as MetaMask or Coinbase Wallet). You are solely responsible for the security of your wallet and private keys. Duelr does not hold, control, or have access to your private keys or wallet funds.

You may set a username and avatar. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Impersonation of other users or Duelr staff is prohibited.

5. Wagers and Smart Contract Settlement

Wagers are created and settled via the PlanetWagerEscrow smart contract on Base mainnet. By placing a wager, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• Fees. A 9% platform service fee is deducted from winnings at settlement. Where a referral code was applied, an additional 1% referral fee is deducted from within that service fee.
• No Custody. Duelr does not hold your USDC at any point. Funds are held in smart contract escrow and released based on on-chain attestations signed by the platform server.
• Smart Contract Risk. Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities. You use the wager feature entirely at your own risk.
• Finality. Outcomes recorded on-chain are final. Client-side issues such as disconnections or browser crashes do not constitute grounds for a refund unless the smart contract's auto-cancel conditions are satisfied.
• Cancellations. Wagers that expire without a matched opponent or that are cancelled before game start are refunded in full with no fees deducted.

6. Fair Play and Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Collude with opponents to manipulate game outcomes
• Use bots, automation, scripts, or exploits to gain an unfair advantage
• Engage in match-fixing or any form of deception
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the platform's smart contracts or backend systems
• Create multiple accounts to circumvent bans or restrictions

Violations may result in immediate account suspension, permanent ban, and forfeiture of any pending wager funds where permissible under the smart contract terms.

7. Responsible Gaming

Duelr includes a wagering feature that involves real monetary value. You should never wager more than you can afford to lose. If you believe gambling is negatively affecting your life or the life of someone you know, please seek help through a responsible gaming organisation in your region.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on Duelr, including but not limited to the platform design, game logic, branding, and written content, is owned by or licensed to Duelr. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any platform content without prior written permission.

9. Third-Party Services

Duelr integrates with third-party services including Base blockchain infrastructure, wallet providers, and USDC. Duelr is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of any third-party service.

10. Disclaimers

The platform is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Duelr does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or the accuracy of any leaderboard, game result, or user-generated content.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Duelr and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of funds, arising from your use of the platform or any smart contract interaction.

12. Modifications

Duelr reserves the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated where reasonably practicable.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction, as applicable.
